Update: Analysis here, here, and here.
Original post: Announced here.
We are happy to announce that Facebook has acquired FriendFeed.
Facebook today announced that it has agreed to acquire FriendFeed, the innovative service for sharing online. As part of the agreement, all FriendFeed employees will join Facebook and FriendFeed’s four founders will hold senior roles on Facebook’s engineering and product teams.
Interesting move. Friendfeed has actually been at the cutting edge of social media UI design, and Facebook has actually copied several ideas originated at Friendfeed.
Of note is that Friendfeed’s four founders are also its only investors.
It will be interesting to see what develops.
